WHAT WE DO

Oscillate Recordings is a premium UK recording studio, with two sites in Manchester’s city centre (Northern Quarter) and Knutsford, Cheshire (close to Manchester Airport).

The studio was set up 10 years ago by the hugely experienced producer, and songwriter Chris Hughes and it specialises in band recordings, solo artist recordings (all genres), mixing, mastering, composition, beat writing, podcasts, voiceover recordings, audio post production, and ADR (Automated Dialogue Specialists we are Source Connect Pro specialists). Over the years Chris has assembled a team of Manchester’s best producers and sound engineers. We pride ourselves in our professionalism and have worked with high profile and chart topping musicians, bands, actors, celebrities, record labels and film companies.

Chris has 20 years experience as a signed recording artist, producer, songwriter, musician, mix and mastering engineer.

He founded Oscillate Recordings in 2011 and now manages two state of the art facilities at Knutsford and Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

Chris Hughes Accomplishments

As a songwriter he has written and produced for countless artists streaming many millions.

The highlights are producing Lewis Maxwell’s Capturing The Dark (signed to Scruff Of The neck Records) and music campaigns for The Royal Society Of Chemistry, British Basketball League through to Bloom Franchise (album currently streaming 5 million and counting).

As an engineer he has recorded dialogue for major international TV companies including Dreamworks (Kung Fu Panda), Disney+ (Goosebumps), Bang Zoom Animations (Ramona Flowers) and CBS (The Truth Behind My Murders)

He has mixed and mastered major albums including Calva Louise/Euphoric, Strange Bones/England Screams and for Ubisoft (PostMatch – LoFi Music).

Chris inherited a bit of mess when I recorded my album at a different studio but he managed to mix it and master it brilliantly completely lifting the whole thing & making it sound great. Really professional and very talented. We’re now recording all our new stuff with him and the process is effortless. It’s great knowing a producer like him & we’re really happy with how things are panning out.

I think choosing the right producer/studio is so important so if you are looking to record, this studio combined with Chris’ ear should be top of your list.

He's very friendly and more than just recording he's a talented musician. He knows all about songs and the current scene and helped turn my song into a rocking demo with a groove, and i'm hoping it'll be a hit.
The studio at Knutsford is spacious and smart with a great sound system and bank of speakers, and it's in a nice rural location. It made me feel like i was a star in a recording session. All in all, I had an excellent experience. 5 stars!!

Arranging the session was quick and simple with Chris easily contactable by email and happy to answer any questions I had. The studio itself as a fully kitted out, high spec studio and is located in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, an inspiring place.

On the day we arrived with Chris meeting us at the gate, after a quick introduction we got straight to work, chipping away at 2 songs we wanted to record. As we only had the one day Chris gave no guarantees but assured us we'd have a blast regardless.

And we did have a blast, spending the day in a studio can be a daunting and high pressure situation but it didn't feel like that for one moment. The whole experience was out of this world, from tracking the drums to doing multiple vocal takes, everything felt like a pleasure and Chris was on hand to give feedback and advice at every stage.

By the end of the day we had two high quality recordings that I'll cherish forever, along with the memories of one of the greatest days of my life.
